Fayette police are urging owners to lock their vehicles at night. Over the past three weeks, more than a dozen reports have been made by people claiming their cars have been rifled through overnight. All of the vehicles were unlocked.
City Marshal David Ford said the reports come from all over town and have mainly occurred on weekends and non-school nights. Nothing has been reported stolen so far.
Chief Ford said his officers have so far been unable to identify the perpetrators based on video evidence but suspect them to be juveniles.
