Former Falcon Cale Polson on Friday signed a letter of intent to play baseball for the Pirates of North Central Missouri College in Trenton. Polson will join former Falcon teammate Quess Frerking on the Pirate roster.
Polson said he chose NCMC because he knew he wanted to focus on academics while still playing a sport. “With Quess already being there, he was able to talk to the coaches,” about Polson’s abilities. NCMC Coach Donnie Hillerman will look to utilize him mainly as a pitcher and maybe a two-way player on the infield.
Fayette coach Charles Trick said he is very excited for Cale. “He’s very hard working. We’ve been working quite a bit over the summer and fall, getting into shape. He’s very versatile defensively and he has earned this opportunity.”
Polson will start his college career in the spring of 2021.
A 2020 graduate of Fayette High School, Polson batted .286 his junior year. As a pitcher, he posted a 3.23 ERA while striking out 21 opponents.
