Proclamation National Day of Prayer

(Staff Photo)

Howard County will join in the nationwide "National Day of Prayer" May 6. Here, Presiding Commissioner Lowell Eaton signs the official proclamation while Western District Commissioner Howard Black, left, and Eastern District Commissioner William (Benji) Conrow await their turn to sign. Looking on is Dana Bender of Fayette, a member of the four-person task force which is working to encourage observance of the day locally. A county-wide prayer breakfast is set for the morning of May 6 at Faith Family Church. The National Day of Prayer first was observed in 1952. This year's theme is "Let Freedom Ring."
