THE NEW CMU BUILDING under construction the west side of the downtown Fayette square is taking shape. The two cinderblock pillars on either side will house stairwells and an elevator. Steel beams were recently stretched across the nearly block-long expanse.
As was previously reported in the Fayette Advertiser, Central Methodist University is investing big into downtown Fayette. The previous estimated cost of $6.5 million has ballooned to around $8 million. The top two floor of the three-story structure will house students. The ground floor will feature retail space.
The Advertiser will publish more photos and information as construction progresses.
