Posted

On Friday, May 25, Fayette resident Kimberly Oeth was honored with the Betty Crim Faculty Enhancement Award from the University of Missouri’s Sinclair School of Nursing.

The award, established in 1999 by Nurse Betty Crim RN, MEd, honors the legacy of an active faculty member at the MU Sinclair School of Nursing from 1954 to 1988. Nurse Crim made a significant impact on undergraduate students through her faculty role and her dedication to tutoring and preparing them for board exams.

Mrs. Oeth is a Registered Nurse and Assistant Teaching Professor with a Doctorate of Health Professions Education (Terminal Degree). She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master of Nursing Education (MSNE). With over 21 years of experience as an RN, she has been teaching at the University of Missouri-Columbia for five years and previously taught at Central Methodist University for 10 years. Additionally, Mrs. Oeth works part-time at the Radiation Clinic at The Ellis Fischel Cancer Center at University Hospital.

The award recognizes faculty members who demonstrate a commitment and dedication to students and the school, serve as professional role models, and are flexible in their teaching styles.

To be eligible for the award, the honoree must be a full-time undergraduate faculty member at the MU Sinclair School of Nursing.

The Betty Crim Faculty Enhancement Award honors individuals who have excelled in fostering professional development of undergraduate students and have set high standards of excellence in teaching and nursing. Nominations are sought, and the final selection process involves undergraduate students from all levels of the program.
