Bob played basketball and baseball for the Armstrong Comets. Bob began his life-long career in agriculture at the farmer’s Co-op in Armstrong, in his words “I was the head ear corn scooper”. He later moved to the farmer’s Co-op in Fayette. Bob also served in the National Guard and was activated during the riots in Kansas City. Bob married Mary Jane Shiflett in 1967 and to this union, Mary, Stephanie and Ryan were born. In 1982, Bob made his final stop at Ray Carroll County Grain Growers in Richmond, MO, where he worked until he retired, as Assistant General Manager in 2007, and “knew every farmer in three counties”. In 1993, Bob married Nancy Hackett and with Nancy, came her daughter Stephanie. Bob and Nancy resided on an 80 acre farm in Polo, MO raised Angus cattle, hay and bushels of vegetables. When he wasn’t “farming”, Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Evelyn Jane Pitts and brother, William Jack Blair. Left to celebrate his life are his wife Nancy, of the home, daughter Mary Blair of Kansas City, daughter Stephanie (Greg) Morgan of Higginsville, daughter Stephanie (Abe) Smith of Raymore, son Ryan (Jenni) Blair of Ashland and sister Barbara Blair of Fayette; four grandchildren, Amanda Long, Kylie and Harry Smith and Kelsey Rose Blair; mother-in-law, Ruthmary Price of Higginsville; sisters-in-law, Nathaleen Blair of Bolivar and Cheryl Keim of Cameron; several nieces and nephews.
