Well known Howard County farmer Ronald Glenn Strodtman died Sunday morning, June 6, 2021, at his home south of Glasgow. He was 64 years of age.

The son of Ralph and Martha Ann (Yung) Strodtman, Ronnie was born in Moberly, Missouri on December 22, 1956. He was educated at St. Mary’s elementary school and Glasgow High School.

On May 10, 1974, Ronnie Strodtman and Leasa Monnig were married in Fayette, Missouri. The couple resided on their farm south of Glasgow, where they lived for 47 years and raised their four children.

Ronnie was known for his love of family and work ethic. At seventeen, he worked nights as a welder at Standard Havens and farmed during the day. He built a farming operation that supported his family and shared his love of growing with them. As time permitted, he took great joy in fishing on the Missouri River with family and friends. He also enjoyed helping people, gardening, and time outdoors hunting deer, turkey, mushrooms and arrowheads. Ronnie was a natural mechanic and could fix most anything. His greatest love, of course, was time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. They shared countless memories together fishing, vacationing, and playing cards. He was a caring and attentive husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Leasa, of the home; his three children, Sherry (Terill) Bean of Fayette, Josh (Blake Worland) Strodtman of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Carrie (Nick Bagby) Strodtman of Fayette; four grandchildren, Jillian and Christopher Flaspohler, and Ethan and Nathan Bean; three brothers, Jimmie (Christy) Strodtman of Glasgow, Jeff (Lori) Strodtman of Fayette, and Kevin (Angie) Strodtman of Fayette. He was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his son, Scottie.

A memorial service for Ronnie Strodtman will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow with Rev. Harold Young officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service, starting at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. A private inurnment will be held at Pleasant Green Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Pleasant Green Cemetery, in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 112 Market St., Glasgow, MO 65254.
