Fayette Rotary President Glenn Ludtke (left) presented two “Happy Can” checks to Fayette City Clerk Tara Kunze (right) toward the annual Independence Day fireworks display, and for two summer pool passes. The donations took place at the club’s regular meeting on Wednesday, May 25.
The organization pledged $100 toward the fireworks display, which is expected to cost $4,200, up $700 from previous years’ costs. The annual display is paid for by donations and takes place at dusk at the city park on July 4.
Kunze also accepted a check in the amount of $160 to be used to purchase two family summer passes for the Fayette City Pool. Each year the city, along with organizations and individuals, sponsors pool passes to be handed out to eligible low-income families as defined by the Federal Income Guidelines.
