Fayette resident, Samantha Phillips, age 30, passed away at her home on November 29, 2022, surrounded by her loving caretakers.
Samantha Elizabeth Phillips, affectionately known as “Sam,” was born in Boone County, Missouri, on December 23, 1991. She was a daughter to the late Leonard W. and Dollie Elizabeth (Scott) Phillips, Sr. Sam attended and graduated from Fayette High School. Sam was a beautiful person who loved to smile. She may have been small in stature, but her personality was larger than life. Sam was full of tenacity, always making herself be heard when need be. Braun Home staff often referred to Sam as “Best Girl.” Sam loved spending time with her friends and truly loved her sister Katie. She loved animals, and her favorites were horses. Her horse’s name was Thunder. Sam’s favorite foods were chips, Pepsi, onions, and blueberries. Sam was a beautiful soul, and she will be missed, especially by her compassionate caregivers at the Braun Home.
Survivors include four siblings, Catherine “Katie” Phillips, George Phillips, Leonard Phillips, Jr., and Charlotte “Lotte” Phillips. She is also survived by the wonderful staff at the Braun Home and special friends and caregivers, Christmas, Idris, Penny, Daphne, Brenna, and Alida.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Sam will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette, with Rev Mike Jackman officiating.
