Santa Fe Trail Days this weekend

Santa Fe Trail Days returns to downtown New Franklin this weekend. The two-day event opens Friday evening, culminating with  live music in the beer garden Saturday night.

Vendor booths and bounce houses open at 6 p.m. Friday. The event kicks off with a cruise-in from 6 to 8 p.m. A teen dance begins at 8 p.m.

At 8:30 p.m. on Friday the popular burn circus returns. The spectacle features fire eaters and jugglers. A 50/50 raffle will take place from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. Entrants must be present to win.

The event kicks into high gear on Saturday. The baby and little Mr. and Miss contests begin at 10:30 a.m. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m.

Magic Man Gene Turner will perform throughout the day from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Morning activities conclude with a tricycle race for those aged 16 and older at 11:30.

The popular Santa Fe Trail Days parade will wind its way through downtown beginning at 1 p.m. 

Following the parade the dunk tank will be open until 6 p.m. A performance by the Missouri Fiddler will take place from 4 until 5 p.m. The beer garden opens at 4 p.m.

Saturday evening entertainment includes live music by Zach Simpson at 5 p.m. and the Kay Brothers Band in the beer garden at 9 p.m. A log sawing contest will kick off at 6 p.m., with registration starting at 4 p.m. The burn circus returns at 8:30 p.m.
