Rural Fayette resident, Scotty Hill, 63, passed away at University Hospital in Columbia, September 11, 2020.
Robert Scott Hill was born June 3, 1957, in Washington Township, Johnson County, MO, a son to James Turner and Lauretta Ann (Thompson) Hill. He attended Green Ridge Schools near Sedalia, Mo. He married Virginia “Genny” Lancaster December 9, 1977, in Boonville, Mo. Scotty had worked at the Armstrong, Glasgow, and Fayette Co-Ops. He made the steel stars that went on top of the grain bins at all three Co-Ops. He also worked for Jimmy Shiflett in elevator and grain bin construction. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, tinkering with his trucks, driving a tractor or a bulldozer. He enjoyed visiting with his family and playing with his grandchildren, that he loved dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Genny of the home; son, Jamie (Brandi) Hill of Glasgow; daughter, Kayla (Patrick) Lucas of Fayette; nine grandchildren, Justin and Jaylee Thies, James Hill, Byron and Bryce Lucas, Madison Suttner, Karson and Hadliegh Hill, and Braxton Lucas; two brothers, Jerry (Jessica) Hill of Tightwad, Mo. and Jimmy (Jeanie) Jill of Cole Camp, Mo.; two sisters, Laura (Randy) Jones of Crestview, Fla., and Karen (Rick) Gray of Armstrong, Mo. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A private family funeral service honoring Scotty’s life will be Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Harold Young officiating. Public visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, September 14, 2020, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed. Burial will follow the service at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Fayette.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
