Fayette running back Garren Vroman shattered the Falcons’ single-game rushing Friday night as he powered his team past Lewis & Clark foe Paris, 60-30, on the road. The senior rushed for 347 yards and five touchdowns.

“The offensive line was very good up front today,” Vroman said. “They got me open holes. I hit it hard and did what I had to do to get in the end zone.”

With the old school record of 313 yards rushing, Vroman just continued to cut through the defense. “I wanted that record really bad,” said Vroman. “I was at 308 and I said, ‘Coach, let me stay in.’ I mean, it was big for the offensive line because that means they dominated. So they got it for me.”

On a night that was dominated by the offense, Fayette’s defense proved they were a force with which to be reckoned as well. Freshman Micah Estes showed up large Friday night, leading the team with 12 tackles and six assists.

Seniors Chris Brown had seven tackles, and two assists. Six of his tackles were for losses. Classmate Avery Powell recorded Six tackles and four assists.

Senior Logan Wiswall had five tackles on the night while junior DJ Moore had four tackles and four assists.

Senior Tyler Bartholomew and junior Haden Kelly each had three tackles. Bartholomew was in on four assists and two of Kelly’s were for a loss. Senior Cale Hudson and junior Malakai Graves each had two tackles. Hudson also had an interception. Senior Dalton Collins also had one tackle.

In addition to Vroman’s offensive exploits, junior Ben Wells was 10-16 passing for 131 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 21 yards and a touchdown.

Junior Chase Allen-Wells caught six passes for 71 yards and his first touchdown of the year while Collins had two receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown.

Estes each carried the ball twice with Moore earning nine yards and Estes logging six.

Logan Wiswall also hauled in one pass for three yards.

This is homecoming week for the Falcons with the Harrisburg Bulldogs coming to town on Friday. Ranked No. 6 in Class 1, Harrisburg will bring a 6-0 conference-leading record to town. The homecoming game will begin at 7 p.m.
