Fayette resident, Shirley Studley, 83, passed away peacefully at her home on April 25, 2021.
Shirley B. Studley was born October 21, 1937 in Howard County, MO, a daughter to James C. “Babe” and Margaret (Lusby) Johnson. Shirley worked as a nurse her entire life, earning a GED and LPN license later in her career. Throughout her career, she worked as a school nurse, a daycare provider and provided hospice care in her home. She also worked for Spic & Span in Boonville for 20 years. On November 5, 1966, Shirley married Dean R. Studley in Boonville, MO. Together they enjoyed 46 years of marriage. Shirley had a deep passion for literature and loved to read and write. She took particular interest in reading and learning about Amish culture. She also enjoyed watching old western movies. Shirley loved church and was currently attending Hillside Baptist Church of Fayette.
Survivors include five children, Tim (Michelle) Baker of Franklin, MO, Vickie (Fred) Behymer of Kanopolis, KS, Jeff (Amy) Studley of Boonville, MO, Barbara Laing of West Palm Beach, FL and Susan Beaulieu of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; eight grandchildren, Samantha (Stephen) Braslin, Garth Baker, Austin Baker, Nick Ferarri, Andrew (Leslie) Laing, Amanda Laing, Matthew (Gina) Glendon, and Rachel (Daniel) Melcher; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, James C. Johnson, Jr. of Boonville, MO and Randy (Penny) Miller of Liberty, MO. Shirley is also survived by her faithful pet cat, Callie. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Sue and Ruth Johnson, and a brother, Steve Miller.
A memorial service honoring the life of Mrs. Studley will be 11 AM, Friday, April 30, 2021 at Hillside Baptist Church in Fayette, with Rev. Ken Stacey officiating. Visitation will be an hour before the service, starting at 10 AM, at the church. Inurnment will follow the service at Fayette City Cemetery.
