The 2024 Christmas Holiday House gift distribution will be held on Saturday, December 14, at the First Baptist Church Education Building in Fayette.
The Christmas Holiday House project distributes toys, games, art supplies, books, hats, and gloves to provide happy holiday celebrations for registered families. Last year, the Christmas Holiday House served 280 children in Howard County, ages newborn to 12 years.
Support for Christmas Holiday House comes from individuals, church groups, and civic organizations. Those wishing to contribute to the 2024 Christmas Holiday House may send cash donations to the treasurer, Pat Hilgedick, at 105 Givens Road, Fayette. New items—toys, books, games, puzzles, art supplies, hats, and gloves—are also accepted. Drop boxes for gifts will be placed at local banks and Peacock Beauty Shop during the month of November.
Families wishing to register for Christmas Holiday House must attend the First Baptist Church Education Building from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, or Saturday, November 16.
Christmas Holiday House is a community program under the auspices of the First Christian Church Outreach Committee. Long-time Fayette resident Carolyne Peery spearheaded this community project, which is now in its twenty-third year, thanks to the generosity of the people of Howard County and the dedication of many volunteers who make it happen.
For further information or to volunteer to help in any way, contact Pat Hilgedick at (660) 888-9932 or Beverly Markland at (573) 239-0709.
