The Central Methodist men's soccer team produced a program-record six NAIA All-Americans. The 2021 NAIA Men's Soccer All-America teams were released by the national office last week.

The NAIA All-America committee consists of the NAIA-Men's Soccer Coaches Association Executive Committee, the National Championship Games Committee, and four men's soccer coaches. Each team – first, second and third – consists of 11 members and the honorable mention teams.

The trio of sophomore Stefano Camerlengo, junior Alessandro Salvadego, and senior Marcos German landed on the first team, while  freshman Basil Erne, senior Billy Nzojyibwami, and graduate Jesse Bank earned Honorable Mention honors.

Camerlengo is now a two-time First Team All-American. The native of Pescara, Italy appeared and started in 19 matches as Central's primary goalkeeper, tallying a perfect 19-0 record and a .035 goals-against average, all ranking him No. 3 or better in the nation. He concluded the year giving up only six total goals and just two matches allowing more than one goal. Camerlengo was recognized as a First Team All-Conference performer in 2021.

German becomes a three-time NAIA All-American after captaining the Eagles to a 22-1 overall record and their fourth-straight NAIA National semifinals appearance. He appeared and started in 21 matches for Central, tallying eight goals and eight assists. He was tabbed as a First Team All-Conference performer and the Heart Defensive Player of the Year for the second time. He concludes his career as a two-time NAIA National Champion and a two-time First Team All-American. For his efforts in this year's national tournament, German was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Salvadego rounds out the First Team All-America selections for CMU after a dominant 2021 campaign. The native of Belluno, Italy tied the program record for single-season goals (23), good enough for third-best in the nation. He also tied for the team lead with eight assists and totaled 51 points, which ranks him No. 1 in all of the NAIA. Salvadego recorded six multi-goal games this season including a hat trick against Mount Mercy on Sept. 18. He was tabbed as the Heart Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, and a First-Team All-Conference selection. Salvadego joins German as a member of the All-Tournament Team.

Erne was a welcome addition to the Eagles' backline, as the freshman made 23 appearances with 23 starts. He tallied two goals and three assists and was a part of a defensive core that recorded 15 shutouts in 2021 along with holding this seasons' opponents to just a .084 shooting percentage. He also earned First Team All-Conference honors.

Nzojybwami was named an Honorable Mention All-American after tallying 10 goals and two assists in 22 appearances in 2021. This marks the first All-America selection for the senior forward. He was also named the Heart Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 18 and landed on the Heart All-Conference First-Team.

Jesse Bank was the final Eagle to be named an Honorable Mention All-American, appearing in 22 matches with 21 starts on CMU's backline. Bank recorded four goals and one assist and served as another key piece to Central's defense. He scored two game-winners including one against Clarke and against Tabor in the first game of the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. For his efforts in conference play, he also landed on the Heart All-Conference First Team.
