Voting was underway for municipal and school board elections as this newspaper went to press Tuesday morning. Only 16 ballots had been cast at the Howard County Courthouse by 8 a.m. A low turnout was expected with few races contested. Prior to Tuesday, 33 absentee ballots had been cast.
Several school boards declined to hold elections since there were as many candidates as open seats.
Polling places were open until 7 p.m. Tuesday night. Results were posted on the Fayette Advertiser’s website and Facebook page.
