The Attic, EO to reopen May 4

Posted

The Attic, a resale store on the south side of the downtown square in Fayette, plans to reopen Monday, May 4 as the state relaxes COVID-19 restrictions.

The announcement came Monday from Deb Miller, CEO of Endless Options in Fayette which runs the business. “We are putting some things in place for the next phase, always with the aim of keeping our customers and donors safe,” she said.

“There are many unknowns about the future of resale, but for now, we are happy to tell you that our donations will be handled with protective gear and disinfecting will happen before items reach the sales floor.”

Miller said the health of employees will be monitored. To keep in compliance with social distancing recommendations, the store may at times allow only five shoppers at a time.

Additionally, donations will be handled differently. Those wishing to make donations should schedule appointments so that employees can ensure there is enough space and manpower. To make a donation call (660) 248-2693.

Business hours will also change. The store will open later to allow employees additional time in the mornings to properly disinfect the premises along with inventory. New hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Endless Options will reopen its day and employment services May 4 as well. EO has been closed since March 17. Reopening doesn’t mean everything is back to normal. Precautions such as screening those entering buildings and social distancing will be in place. Some people may be required to wear masks and everyone will be reminded to wash their hands frequently.

“It may be a bit longer before we can get our community integration program, EO on the Go, up to full speed,” Miller explained. “At first, we will need to stick close to home, finding what Fayette and surrounding areas have to offer.”
