Two people are in jail facing charges of domestic assault and unlawful use of a weapon following a family quarrel that occurred more than a year ago. Timothy Lancaster, 49, Heather Dawn Clark, 24, are both held on cash-only bonds of $20,000. They were arrested on July 5, 2021.

According to court documents, Clark allegedly pistol-whipped a man during a fight on June 25, 2020. She faces one count each of third-degree domestic assault and unlawful use of a weapon, both Class E felonies. Lancaster faces two counts of third-degree domestic assault and one count of unlawful use of a weapon. 

Deputies from the Howard County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call on County Road 105 for a report of an assault involving firearms. While details are sketchy as to exactly what took place, it is evident, based on a probable cause statement filed by deputy Brian Sollars, that a fight broke out involving Timothy Lancaster, Jr., Elijah Lancaster, and Timothy Lancaster, Sr. At one point another brother, Solomon Lancaster, allegedly became involved.

Statements documented in the probable cause document do not give a clear narrative as to who started the fight or why. All of those involved in the fight, along with witnesses, declined to fill out written statements. What is clear, however, is that two pistols were brandished and a shotgun was fired into the air. Clark admitted to pistol-whipping Elijah in the head, according to the probable cause statement.

No persons were arrested at the time of the incident. The three firearms, along with a sword, were taken into custody by officers.

Both Clark and Lancaster, Sr. were scheduled to appear before Judge Mason Gebhardt on Tuesday morning in Howard County court.
