The City of Fayette will begin issuing licenses for utility vehicles (UTVs) and golf carts this week for use on public streets. The cost for a one-year license is $15.
The city council in January approved an ordinance that mandated UTVs, golf cats, and other such vehicles be licensed before they are allowed to drive on city roadways. The vehicles also must have lights so they may be seen from both front and back.
The Fayette Police Department will inspect all vehicles before licenses are awarded. To schedule an inspection, call City Hall during regular business hours at (660) 248-5246.
