Seven-year old Beckett Cook of Fayette reeled in the catch of a lifetime at the Lake of the Ozarks last month while fishing off a dock on Apache Point in Climax Springs.
After an unsuccessful day fishing in the Big Bass Bash tournament, Beckett and two friends decided to finish the day casting from the dock. That’s when Beckett hooked a massive Blue Catfish.
The fish was so immense, it broke his rod and reel while Beckett tried to land the catch. He and his father, Andy Cook, landed the beast by hand. The catfish reportedly maxed out their 70-pound scale.
