Members of the White-Bell American Legion Post 273 in Fayette and friends gathered Sunday afternoon to put together Christmas packages to be sent to military troops who left Sunday for the port of entry in Texas.
In total, 150 boxes were packed and shipped as part of Mission: Christmas in a Box. Included in the boxes were cookies, Hoskins Smokehouse trail mix and sampler packs, Pen and sundry items, candy canes, tiny Christmas trees, a Bass Pro lantern, crafts from Fayette elementary and middle school students, Burgers Smokehouse beef bits, Scentsy deodorizer, snowflakes and Lindt Lindor chocolates, and spiritual books and videos. Gifts were wrapped by the Harris family, and shipped by Riley Juniper and Chris Vanhouten.
