Ken Carey and Marty Stover, from the Cooper County Masonic Lodge #36, visited New Franklin Elementary School, on Friday to present this semester’s Bikes for Books to children in grades K-5. More than 4,000 books have been read by eager students since the beginning of this school year.
Proud winners were: grades K-1, Lily Shaw and Christian Mize; grades 2-3, Sawyer Lawson and Easton Washburn; and grades 4-5, Bailey Briggs and Jayse McCulloch.
Additional prizes included two (2) $100 Gift cards. Emma Mize and Josie Scott were those lucky recipients.
Bikes for Books was made possible by the following community sponsors: Jennings Premium Meats, WK Ford, Rick Ball Auto Mall, Joe Machens, Columbia Honda, Copies Etc., Exchange Bank, David Schnell Drilling, American Family Insurance-Jason Matyas, Arvidson Appliance (formerly Imhoff’s Appliance), Boonville Quick Lube, Nash’s Towing, Maggie’s Bar and Grill, Troy Thurman Construction, and Cooper Sales.
