BTC Bank acquires two new branches

Posted

A week after the Advertiser reported that BTC Bank, which owns locations in Fayette and Boonville, sold its Columbia branch to Connections Bank, the two institutions have made another deal. This time, Connections Bank is selling its branches in Bunceton and Prairie Home to BTC Bank.

The two Missouri-based banks jointly announced the signing of an agreement for BTC Bank to purchase the branches, located at 510 Highway Drive in Prairie Home, and 101 West Main Street in Bunceton.

The agreement and the related transaction have been approved by the boards of directors of both banks, but remain subject to the approval of the applicable regulatory agencies. The transaction is expected to close in the late fourth quarter of this year or early in the first quarter of 2026.

“BTC Bank is excited to continue our growth in Cooper County,” said Doug Fish, President and Chief Executive Officer of BTC Bank. “Prairie Home and Bunceton are rural and agricultural communities that share the same values that have guided BTC Bank for more than a century. We’re eager to build relationships and support the people, farmers, and businesses who call these towns home.

“Our Boonville branch has been fortunate to serve Cooper County for several years, and we’re honored to now welcome the neighboring Prairie Home and Bunceton communities to BTC Bank,” added Fish. “We look forward to ensuring a smooth transition for our new customers and providing the same personalized service and continued focus on community, youth, and agriculture that define BTC Bank.”

After selling its Columbia Branch and acquiring locations in Prairie Home and Bunceton, BTC Bank will operate 25 locations, including a mobile branch, throughout Missouri and southern Iowa, with total assets exceeding $1 billion. Founded in 1919, BTC Bank has grown to be one of the largest agricultural lenders in the state. BTC acquired Salisbury-based Merchants & Farmers Bank in 2021, which operated branches in Fayette, Salisbury, Hardin, and Columbia.
