After claiming her first individual championship this spring, Central Methodist sophomore golfer Cassandra Contreras was named the Heart Women's Golfer of the Week by the conference office Monday.
Contreras has now won the award on five different occasions this year including, March 14, October 19, October 11, October 4, and September 20.
The native of Goodyear, Arizona won the Crestview Spring Invitational this past week in Wichita, Kansas. She placed first out of 34 other golfers with a single-round score of 74 and led the CMU Women to the team victory with a final round of 337.
Contreras and the Eagles continue spring competition at the Ron Streck Invitational Monday and Tuesday in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
