Edward K. Marshall, 87, of Fayette passed away Friday evening May 31, 2024, at Glasgow Gardens in Glasgow, MO.
There will be a memorial service held on August 10, 2024 at the First Presbyterian Church in Boonville, Missouri.
Edward Kent Marshall was born November 23, 1936, in Gilman City, MO., the son of William Garnett Marshall and Augusta Irene Shepherd Marshall. He graduated from Gilman City High School. While working his way through college, he went to the University of Missouri and eventually got his degree from Lincoln University. He married Catherine (Hitt) Eidson on November 5, 1983, in Fayette, MO. Edward loved the outdoors and enjoyed his farm animals. He loved to watch basketball especially Women’s college basketball. He enjoyed riding horses in the Shawnee National Forest. He worked for Rock Island Railroad and sold real estate and insurance. He then worked 24 years for the Department of Corrections. After he retired, he lived his life helping others and taking care of his multitude of animals. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and spending time with family.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, William and Augusta, brother William G. Marshall, sisters, Mareta Rankin and Boneta Wagoner. He is survived by his wife of the home, Catherine, daughter, Cheryl (Sheri) Erwin of Hazel, KY., and sons, Vince (Jane) Marshall of Utah, Jeff Marshall of Paris, TN., Bradley Scott (Kelly) Eidson of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Flora Joyce Eidson, Perla Raquel Eidson, Megan (Chase) Ottway, Jeffrey Todd (Courtney) Marshall, Maddie Erwin, great grandchildren, Clay and Bailey Ottway and Rowan Marshall.
