The Fayette High School marching band swept eight of nine categories at the Macon Marching Festival on Saturday. Fayette took first place in the street and field events and won the indoor drumline, indoor colorguard competitions. The Falcons also earned awards for outstanding auxiliary in both the street and field, outstanding music in the field, and outstanding marching and maneuvering in the field.
Fayette was also recognized for having the “Wow” factor during the parade performance. The $500 award is given to bands displaying outstanding pride, discipline, and attention to detail.
The festival marked the fourth and final competition for the marching band this year. Fayette placed first in the field and street competitions in all four events, quite a feat for Elizabeth Betts in her first year directing here.
