Two City of Fayette electrical linemen were celebrated for mutual aid work in Springfield following devastating spring storms. A plaque was sent by the City Utilities of Springfield to the City of Fayette and was presented to Electric Supervisor Sonny Conrow during the regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen on Tuesday, October 14.
Conrow, along with linemen Caleb Smedley, has also worked to provide mutual aid in Tallahassee, Florida.
“We received several calls that said, ‘we just can’t thank them enough’,” City Administrator Deanna Cooper explained.
“Those are the type of people we have working for our city,” Cooper said.
The plaque reads: “City Utilities of Springfield recognizes our mutual aid partner City of Fayette for your support following the April 29, 2025, storm. Your swift response and skilled assistance helped restore power to more than 50,000 customers during a time of great need.”
