The Fayette Police Department will hold a fundraiser on Sunday, November 6, to benefit the Christmas Holiday House in Fayette.
On the menu will be pork steaks with sides of cole slaw, potato salad, and baked beans. For $10, diners will receive a pork steak and two sides. Drinks will be available for an additional dollar. Officers from Fayette PD will cook and serve the meals. Patrons are encouraged to meet and visit with the officers.
The department will also accept any cash donations. Checks should be made out to the Fayette Police Department.
The department hopes to make the event a yearly fundraiser.
The Christmas Holiday House is presented annually by the First Christian Church in Fayette. Every year the project distributes toys, games, art supplies, books, hats, and gloves to provide happy holiday celebrations for registered families. Last year, the Christmas Holiday House served 208 children, from newborns to 12-year-olds, in Howard County.
Families wishing to register for the Christmas Holiday House may do so at the First Baptist Church Education Building from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, or Saturday, November 19.
Officers from the Fayette Police Department plan to be on hand when families receive the donated items.
