The Fayette School Board would like to make the following expectations clear as we begin a new school year. Discipline issues will be addressed by principals, and the discipline matrix at each level saw several increased consequences from last year. The board expects parents to support teachers and principals in their efforts to discipline students in order to improve behaviors and create a climate that is conducive to learning. It is the philosophy of the district that improved behaviors leads to stronger students, which makes for a better school and community. Consequences are a part of this process, and all faculty and staff should be able to count on your support when consequences are implemented. As always, we will emphasize the development of positive relationships in order to use both negative consequences and positive reinforcement of student behaviors. Thank you for joining with us to accomplish our mission of educating all students to be ethical, successful citizens.
