Former Falcon standout inks with CMU baseball

Former Fayette High School baseball standout Moe Cisneros signed a letter of intent Thursday to play for the Central Methodist University Eagles next season.

In one year at Fayette, Cisneros helped lead the Falcons to their best season in program history. He posted the second-best batting average on the team, hitting .352 with four extra-base hits, including four doubles and eight runs driven in.

Cisneros was just as effective on the mound, posting three wins in four starts with a 2.400 season ERA. At third base, Cisneros boasted a .968 fielding percentage with 89 putouts in 93 chances.

Cisneros moved back to his hometown of Blue Springs, Mo., for his senior year. Consequently, he will have to sit out his final high school season due to the move, per Missouri High School Activities Association regulations.

When Cisneros returns to Fayette, he will be a member of one of the best small college teams in the nation. Central Methodist has won 352 games with 165 losses in the last 11 seasons under coach Nate Breland. The Eagles have won at least 35 games every season since 2016, not counting the 2020 COVID-19 season, and finished runner-up in the NAIA World Series in 2021.

Last year, Central finished 36-19 overall and 23-7 as the Heart Seasons Champions.
