New Franklin resident, Frances Atkins, 91, passed away June 5, 2020, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
Frances Hazel Atkins was born February 9, 1929 in Connersville, IN, a daughter to the late Valentine and Cora Mae (Poe) Williams. Frances attended Connersville High School in Indiana. On August 12, 1989, she married Durwood V. Atkins. He preceded her in death December 28, 2007. Frances worked as a nurse’s aide in the healthcare industry for a number of years. She attended Bible Baptist Church of New Franklin.
Survivors include her three children, Bruce Howell, Donald Wayne Howell and Rosalie Keller, all of In.; nephew, Mike Nunn, of Connersville In.; and numerous grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Howell, Jr. and her sister Louise Nunn.
A graveside service will be held 11 AM, Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin, Mo, with Rev. Harold Young officiating.
