Frances Louise Friedrich, 93, a longtime Fayette resident, passed away on November 29, 2023, at Glasgow Gardens in Glasgow.

Frances was born in rural Fayette on October 8, 1930, a daughter of Benny Franklin and Louise Beach Lay. She married Edward Carl Friedrich, Jr. on October 30, 1948, and he preceded her in death.

Frances was a determined, hard-working individual. She was employed as a cook with the Fayette Public Schools for 38 years and later with the Fayette Senior Center for many years, long after most people retire. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Fayette. She enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles, sewing, embroidery, and going on walks.

Cherishing her memory include her daughter, Suzanne Mueller and husband, Chris; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Frances was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald Wayne Friedrich; a daughter, Janice Owen; a granddaughter, Alyssa Owen; and a sister, Ruth Innes.

Funeral services honoring Frances’ life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Fayette.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church in Fayette.

Condolences may be shared at www.carryager.com.

Carr-Yager Funeral Home is honored to care for Mrs. Friedrich.
