Rural Glasgow resident George “Buddy” Nation, age 69, entered into his peace with Christ our Lord on September 30, 2026.
George Lee Nation was born March 18, 1957, in Fayette, MO. He was the eldest of four sons born to the late George R. “Sonny” and Barbara (Elam) Nation. George graduated from Glasgow High School with the class of 1974. He furthered his education, earning an Associates Degree from UCM in electrical engineering. On February 19, 1977, George married Theresa Weber. Together, they share four sons and have enjoyed over 49 years of marriage. George spent the majority of his career working primarily as a farmer. In addition to owning and operating the family farm, George also spent many years working at Standard Havens in Glasgow and repairing farm equipment for local farmers.
George will be remembered for his dedication to his family, farm, friends, and his loving care of others. He had a love for children and was well known for sharing suckers with every child he met. George is remembered for the gentle care he gave to his parents and grandparents (Bruce and Mary Nation and Randy and Bonnie Elam) when they were alive. He was very proud of his four sons’ accomplishments and loved them deeply. George loved going back and forth with his grandchildren and enjoyed when his grandkids were able to return his quick wit with their own witty comeback.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Theresa Nation; his four sons, George Travis Nation, David W. Nation, Steven M. Nation, and Michael (Mindy) Nation; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his brother, Kenny (Sharon) Nation; two sisters-in-law, Debbie Nation and Debbie Shirley Nation. He’s also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and grandparents, George was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Gary Nation.
