The Glasgow Lady Jackets swarmed into Higbee and defeated the Lady Tigers 8-1 on Wednesday.

Led by the pitching of senior Keyanna Colvin and her 10 strikeouts, the Lady Jackets used 14 hits to earn their eight runs.

Colvin pitched seven innings and gave up seven hits, all singles, with the exception of a triple by Higbee’s sophomore catcher Addison White. Colvin gave up one walk and hit one batter.

Sophomore Kaylyn led Glasgow with three hits, while Colvin, junior Karlie Monnig, senior Malia Carmack, and classmate Jillian Johanning all had two hits apiece.

Sophomore Layne Sanders, junior Allie Matthews, and Noll each contributed one hit.

Higbee sent junior Hailey Derboven to the circle. She struck out four while walking three and giving up 14 hits.

Freshman Raegan Derboven and Addison White led Higbee with two hits apiece, with White driving in the single Higbee run. Hailey Derboven and Alicen Mitchell each added singles to the Higbee cause.

The next day was a different story for the Lady Tigers as they went up against Hale/Bosworth on Thursday.  Freshman Maddie white took the ball for Higbee and pitched three innings giving up only three hits while striking out three.

White’s teammates scored three runs in the bottom of the first before exploding for 17 runs in the bottom of the second. Addie White was 4-for-4 in the game driving in three runs and scoring three.

Alicen Mitchell had two hits while driving in two runs and scoring three.

Raegan Derboven, junior Emma Johnson, junior Madison Ferguson, sophomore Kylleen Gibson, and senior Victoria Gibson each garnered one hit apiece. Kylleen Gibson has three RBI’s on the night.

With the win, Higbee advanced their season record to 6-8. That record dropped to 6-9 Monday evening following a 12-0 loss to Braymer. Statistics from that game were unavailable at press time.
