Group opposing change to four-day school week to meet Monday

A group calling itself “People For The 5 Day School Week” will host an open meeting at 7 p.m. Monday night in the Commercial Trust Co. Community Room. A news release from the group invites interested persons to “hear presentations on education and best learning, and share in discussion on how best to achieve our goal of preserving the time tested five day school week.”

The Fayette Board of Education in November voted 4-2 in favor of adopting a four-day school week beginning with the fall semester.
