Harper Expects Turnout of 40 Percent Tuesday

Howard County Clerk Kathyrne Harper told this newspaper that she expects about 40 percent of registered voters in Howard County will make it to the polls for the August 7 primary election on Tuesday. She cites Proposition A as the main driver for the turnout, which is slightly higher than usual.

Normally between 32 and 35 percent of voters cast ballots during August primary elections.
