Harrisburg will hold its 150th annual Lion’s Club-sponsored town celebration, formerly Septemberfest, now Augustfest, this Friday through Sunday morning, with a selection of events and entertainment for the community.

Events will kick off Friday night at 5 p.m. with registration for the 6 p.m. baby show.

Event booths, concessions, and a beer garden open at 6:30 p.m., and a Bingo game begins at the same time for participants ages 18 and older. There will be cash prizes, amounts unspecified in the event flyer. Friday night events will be wrapped up with a family night dance from 7:30-10:30 p.m., $5 per person.

Events on Saturday begin at 8:30 a.m. with a parade sign-up in the Harrisburg high school parking lot. The parade starts at 10 a.m. The day’s events will include a costume contest, volleyball tournament, tractor pull, and a  cornhole tournament, and the events will be rounded out by a pork steak dinner from 4-7 p.m. at $10 per adult, and a dance from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. for adults ages 21 and older.

A community church service will be offered at 11 a.m. Sunday morning, with the suggestion to “wear your 1871 attire.”
