At 10 a.m., Saturday, October 23, KPIP, Fayette’s local FM radio station at 94.7, will air a special episode in the Howard County Remembers radio series. The 12 programs in this series focus on aspects of Howard County history and were developed as part of the State’s Bicentennial Celebration.

This program is called “Little Dixie: On Slavery’s Border”, and presents a recent interview with Diane Mutti Burke, author of “On Slavery’s Border: Missouri’s Small Slaveholding Households, 1815 - 1865.”

Anyone in KPIP’s listening area can hear this program on FM radio at home or in the car. There will also be local “listening parties” which will be open to the public and will be held in the sanctuaries of Linn Memorial UMC and St. Paul UMC. Those attending should plan to arrive no later than 9:45 am.
