Howard County Clerk reminds voters of election deadlines

Posted

With only 63 until the 2024 General Election, Howard County Clerk Shelly Howell offers information regarding voter registration.

The deadline for new voter registration is October 9. If you are 17 ½ years old, you can register to vote now. That way, if you turn 18 after the October 9 deadline (but on or before Election Day), you can vote on November 5. If you turn 18 after the deadline and wait to register, you are NOT allowed to vote in the November election.

If you have moved since you last voted and have not updated your voter registration in the County Clerk’s office, online, or when you updated your driver’s license, you need to do this now. The sooner, the better. It will streamline your voting experience on election day to a quicker process. Otherwise, you will have to update your address that day prior to voting.

You can check your voter registration status by either calling my office or going to this website: https://voteroutreach.sos.mo.gov/portal.

If you have a family member who is in the military or overseas, they can find a lot of information on my website regarding them receiving their ballot at: https://howardcountyvotes.org/ways-to-vote/military-overseas-voting.

There is a lot of valuable information on my website at www.howardcountyvotes.org.
