Jerrad “J.B.” Clyde Ben Bassestt was born Sept. 2, 1992, in St. Louis, Mo., to Christina Bassett Doyle and Jerald Bassett.

J.B. was an accomplished songwriter and musician who performed rap music, much of which has been published on YouTube. His young life was ended when, not knowing the dangers involved, he became ill from inhaling air dust spray, was hospitalized and died June 25, 2014.

He is survived by his parents, his stepfather, Frankie “Dooley” Doyle, a brother, Patrick Gibbons; three sisters, Chrissy Gibbons, Marina Bassett and Sasha Bassett.

A private funeral service was held in Godfrey, Ill.

Jerrad enjoyed his summers in Howard County getting away from the city to fish, plant gardens, and enjoyed all that Howard County offers, the fair, etc. He attended Faith Family and enjoyed watching his grandpa Billy Swaringen play the guitar at church and various nursing homes including The Lodge.

J.B.’s mother, Christina Doyle, urges all parents to educate themselves and their children regarding the dangers for young people of inhaling air dust spray and other dangerous aerosol sprays.
