For the second time in 2022, Central Methodist freshman pitcher Mykala Johnico was tabbed as the Heart Softball Pitcher of the Week by the Heart of America Athletic Conference office last Monday. 

Johnico was also named Heart Pitcher of the Week back on March 7.

The native of Topeka, Kansas, had a stellar week inside the circle, as she appeared in three games with two starts for CMU. In Central's 8-0 game two shut out of Park last Wednesday, Johnico threw five complete innings and gave up only one hit with eight strikeouts. 

She followed that up with her second no-hitter of the 2022 season against Missouri Valley College College on Sunday. Johnico tossed a complete game against the Vikings and struck out 10 batters to earn her fourth win of the season. The no-hitter is just the ninth in program history since the 2015 season, but the third thrown this year as senior Keighlan Cronin added one earlier this season. 

Overall, she finished the week with a 2-0 record and tallied 19 total strikeouts.
