Larry Dale Brown

Larry Dale Brown, 68, of Boonville, formerly of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away May 20, 2021 at Ashley Manor in Boonville.

Larry was born in Hillsboro, Illinois on October 10, 1952 a son of James Harding and Lucille Haggerty Brown.  He grew up in Nokomis, Illinois.  Larry was a truck driver for many years.  He enjoyed working on vehicles and lawn equipment.  Larry was kind-hearted often helping neighbors and friends with their yard work and working on their lawn mowers and other equipment.  Larry also enjoyed time spent telling stories at the local coffee shop in Alabama.  After moving to Ashley Manor he was the Valentine’s Day King in 2020. 

Survivors include his daughters, Mandy and Steffie; sisters, Mary Wittmeyer, JoAnn Meyer, Pamala Johnson, Jackie Masters and Janice Shives and brothers, Jimmy, Joe and Allen Brown.  Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Debbie and brothers, Marty and Richard Brown.

Memorial services honoring Larry’s life will be held at 6 PM, Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
