Lyceum to present Singin’ in the Rain

The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre will present the beloved classic, Singin’ in The Rain, from September 2 through September 12.

The “Greatest Movie Musical of All Time” is faithfully and lovingly adapted from the original award-winning screenplay Singin’ in The Rain. Each unforgettable scene, song and dance is accounted for including “Make ’Em Laugh,” “Good Morning,” “Fit as a Fiddle” and the show-stopping title number, complete with an onstage rainstorm. Hilarious situations, snappy dialogue and a hit-parade score of Hollywood standards make Singin’ in the Rain the perfect entertainment for any fan of the golden age of movie musicals. 

Singin’ in the Rain is directed and choreographed by Drew Humphrey who returns to Arrow Rock after appearing here last performing as Bobby Child in Crazy For You. Drew’s directing and choreography credits include: Oklahoma, Mary Poppins, A Chorus Line, Singin’ In The Rain, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Guys and Dolls, 42nd Street, and Gypsy. His choreography for Irving Berlin’s White Christmas received a Long Island ‘Encore’ Theater Award for Best Choreography.

Josh Walker serves as Musical Director in his Lyceum debut. Music directing credits include A Little Night Music, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Les Miserables, Ragtime, Drowsy Chaperone, Seussical, Into the Woods, Hairspray, Legally Blonde (Circle Theatre), Next to Normal (Concordia Theatre), Sexy Baby, Scarrie, The Birds, Caged Dames (Hell in a Handbag), Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Peter Pan (Metropolis Theatre). Tink! The Musical (New York Musical Theatre Festival). He also has served as Music Director for Chicago Cabaret Project.

Phillip Attmore portrays dashing hoofer Don Lockwood. His Broadway credits include Hello Dolly!, Shuffle Along, On The 20th Century After Midnight, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, NYCC Encores I Married An Angel, Me and My Girl, and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Film/TV: So You Think You Can Dance, The Bold and the Beautiful, Judging Amy, Sisters, Silent Tongue, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Mr. Attmore is a three-time Astaire Award Winner, ACCA Award Winner, Playbill’s Breakout Performance Award Winner and NAACP Theatre Award Nominee. Darien Crago plays likeable and talented Kathy Selden. Ms. Crago’s credits include the Broadway production of Holiday Inn (her Broadway debut), the national tour of White Christmas, Lady Be Good with NY City Encores, and FX’s Fosse/Verdon. You can also catch her in the upcoming season of Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Quick-witted and sure-footed Cosmo Brown is played by Daniel Plimpton. Mr. Plimpton’s credits include the national tours of Book of Mormon, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, and Spring Awakening. Regional theater credits include the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Pioneer Theatre, Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center, Paper Mill Playhouse, Maltz Jupiter Theatre, North Carolina Theatre and more.

 Kelly Sheehan plays the glamorous, but vocally challenged Lina Lamont. Ms. Sheehan’s Broadway credits include 42nd Street and Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. Other credits include Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (Judy Haynes, National Tour); Guys and Dolls, Holiday Inn (The Muny); Will Rogers Follies Anything Goes (Goodspeed Opera House); Lady Be Good, No, No, Nanette, and Pipe Dream (Encores!); Oklahoma (Engeman Theater); and On The Town (Barrington Stage). Tim Shew portrays R.F. Simpson at The Lyceum where he began his career 40 years ago. Eleven Broadway shows later, Mr. Shew has played in Les Miserables as Jean Valjean, Guys and Dolls with Nathan Lane, Evita with Ricky Martin, and Santa at Radio City Music Hall for seven years. National tour of Hello Dolly! and hundreds of other off-Broadway and regional productions. Jane Brockman returns to the Lyceum stage as Dora Bailey. Ms. Brockman most recently played Ernestina on the national tour of Hello Dolly!. Credits include the HBO movie Bad Education, Wicked on Broadway and the national tour (Midwife/Madame Morrible). Jane spent six years on Broadway in A Christmas Carol and performed as Lady Anne in Live from Lincoln Center’s Camelot with Gabriel Byrne. National Tours: The Light in the Piazza and The Sound of Music. Regionally: Seven Brides, Carousel, Little Women, Lend Me A Tenor, The King and I and Mame. TV/Film: The Americans, Law & Order SVU, All My Children, The Producer’s Movie and various commercials. Alan Knoll portrays Roscoe Dexter. Lyceum credits include Sebastian in Cinderella, Pop Carnes in Oklahoma!, Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast, Renfield in Dracula, Elwood P. Dowd in Harvey, Mr. Van Daan in The Diary of Anne Frank, Paul in You Can't Take It With You and Victor Velasco in Barefoot in the Park. Other credits include Garth Williams in Alabama Story (Alabama Shakespeare Festival), Bob Ewell in To Kill A Mockingbird (Repertory Theatre of St Louis) and God in An Act of God (New Jewish Theatre). The cast also includes Mark Saunders, Justin Campbell, Emily Applebaum, Diego Alejandro Gonzalez, Elizabeth McGuire, Nick Monaldo, Christine Wanda, Robert Head, Sammy Tuchman, Ilana Gabriella, Joseph Oliveri, Louisa Mauze, and Danielle Gonzalez Quevedo.

Longtime Resident Lighting Designer Randy B. Winder is the lighting designer, having designed over 120 productions including Les Miserables, Cats, A Christmas Carol and many more. Sound Design is by Jon Robertson whose Lyceum designs have included All Shook Up, The 39 Steps, and A Christmas Carol. Production Stage Manager is Tony Dearing, now in his 27th season at the Lyceum. Ivan Dario Cano is the Assistant Stage Manager.

Single Tickets for Singin’ In The Rain are priced at $45.00 for adults. Senior, student and children discounts are available. Special Group Rates are available as well.
