Fayette Main Street will celebrate Missouri’s newly relaxed COVID-19 restrictions with a free Drive-In Movie Night Saturday, May 9. The event will take place in the tired parking lots behind Woodward and McMurry dormitories on the Central Methodist University campus with the showing of the family-friendly comedy, “Heavyweights.”
While businesses and churches are allowed to resume activities, the state still encourages social distancing. That’s why the Main Street decided to host a drive-in movie, where participants can maintain safe distances.
“We wanted to bring folks back out, but in a safe way,” said Fayette Main Street Director Mike Dimond.
Main Street is encouraging attendees to bring take-out orders from local restaurants to enjoy during the evening.
Sponsored by Commercial Trust Co., the movie will start at 8:30 p.m., just after sundown.
