Mary Ruth (Simpson) Costley, 93, passed away into the arms of Jesus on Monday June 14, 2021, at Cox Barton County Hospital. Mary was born April 15, 1928, to Robert and Helen (Reynolds) Simpson in Fayette, MO. She was united in marriage to Eugene "Gene" Costley on December 26, 1948 in Fayette, MO. Together, they raised five daughters: Jo Ann Harper of Lockwood, MO, Sharon (David) Crockett of Lamar, MO, Connie Overstreet of Lamar, MO, Donna (Larry) Fanning of Lamar, MO, and Peggy (Larry) Nottingham of Stockton, MO. Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of Oakton United Methodist Church. She had received Christ as her Savior at a young age. Mary always had a cup of coffee for whoever stopped by.
Mary is survived by her daughters, fourteen grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 7 great great-grandchildren, and one on the way. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Johnny Simpson, Bobby Simpson, and Jerry Simpson; and 2 sons-in law, Conrad Harper, and Herb Overstreet.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Oakton United Methodist Church Building Fund.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday June 17, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and a funeral service will be held on Friday June 18, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Konantz Warden Funeral Home.
