Miknan’s Main Street Pub in downtown Fayette will close its doors Friday. Owners Leremie and Elizabeth Shaffer made the announcement on the restaurant’s Facebook page on Saturday.
The couple opened the restaurant in July 2018 after purchasing it from founders Mike and Nancy DeLeon.
On Monday, Mr. Shaffer told this newspaper that the decision came as his kids are getting older, and spending time in the restaurant means missing family activities, particularly in the evenings.
Mr. Shaffer also said he is pursuing a buyer for the restaurant. An addendum to the Facebook announcement hinted that the restaurant could re-open under new ownership. He confirmed Monday that he is pursuing a possible sale.
The family-owned restaurant is known for its burgers and friendly atmosphere. The DeLeon’s opened for business in 2012 on South Main Street and moved to its current location about a year later.
