The New Franklin City Council discussed the city’s plan to address water and sewer needs, and voted to restart the process of seeking bids from engineering firms.
Members Lesley Lyons and Marybeth Sokolski were not present at the meeting.
The council unanimously approved the city’s 2022-23 budget. Mayor Robbey Harvey pointed out that the budget is in the black this year.
Also at the meeting, members voted unanimously gave approval for this year’s Santa Fe Trail Days celebration, which involves blocking off part of the downtown area for most of the event weekend.
The New Franklin city council meets regularly at 7 p.m. on the second Monday of the month. The next meeting will be on July 11. Meetings are open and the public is invited.
