United Methodist Church has a new pastor, Rev. Susan McCollegan, as of July 1. Rev. Karen Jones, who served UMC from 2016 to 2021, retired June 30.
McCollegan has spent 38 years as an educator in the public and private sector and has held roles from kindergarten teacher to school principal. She retired from public schools in 2010. She has also worked as a technical trainer at a hospital in Ill., and has worked as a technical writer and professional management and development trainer for McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, Mo.
McCollegan accepted the call to ministry in 2014, and has served in United Methodist Churches in Ashland, Mo., and Fortuna, Mo. While serving St. Paul UMC in Fayette, she will continue to live in Columbia, but plans to participate in the activities sponsored by St. Paul and the Fayette community.
