Payton Oeth was 3-3 with two home runs and five RBI during a 12U tournament championship game loss for the Mid Mo Kings on Sunday in Sedalia.
Oeth hit a three-run homer in the third inning to give his team a 6-1 lead. His second bomb put the Kings up 8-6 after the Legends had come back to tie the game. It wasn’t quite enough as the Kings fell 9-8 on a walk-off hit in the sixth.
The Kings won the first four games of the weekend to reach the title game on Sunday afternoon. Oeth was 10-14 at the plate with 13 RBI over the five-game tournament. He hit a grand slam during the Kings’ 7-4 win over the Sedalia Tigers on Saturday.
