Public input requested in rezoning hearings May 24

Posted

The City of Fayette will hold public hearings regarding requests to rezone areas on Louisiana Court in the southeast section of town and another area around Watts Avenue and Hackberry Street. The requests are for the city to rezone the areas from Residential 2, which allows for duplexes, to Residential 3, which allows apartment multiplexes.

All three hearings will occur at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, in City Hall. The meetings are open for public input.

If approved, one lot owned by Timothy J. Rost and Toby A. Rost and one lot owned by Kevin Anson and Leslie Anson, both on Louisiana Ct., would be purchased by Little Dixie Construction to build apartments.

BB Steen Properties, LLC, owned by Sue Rudroff, has requested the rezoning near the corner of Watts and Hackberry for the purpose of building a four-plex apartment building.

Letters have been sent out to residents of both areas.
